Working with CitySquash

I just finished working with CitySquash. I had the privilege of working with and getting to play some amazing young athletes. These Junior players gave me a run for my money on court. Not only was I able to train a bit for the summer, I got to see first-hand the training that students at CitySquash are doing.

A normal session would have a warm up and specific drills. The majority of the time the coaching staff was using interval work to develop the players ability to rest more efficiently and to use practice more like a real match. We also had a few days where we played a bunch of matches. I also noticed that the players were getting much better and utilizing the training in their games.

I also was able to get to know the kids more personally and ask them about what would be useful on this website. The injury management page was a favorite and I am hoping to share this website and the link to the injury management page with CitySquash as soon as I publish this site. Through my work with CitySquash, I am hopeful that this website will be applicable to all SEA programs that can use this as a resource. I loved working with CitySquash and hope to continue to volunteer and contribute to their program. I also hope to see the juniors that I played with come through college squash; I will definitely be keeping my eye out for them.
